At Contek, we're proud to represent a client based in Dudley, specializing in reactive and planned mechanical engineering services across various industries including food, automotive, and nuclear sectors. As our representation expands, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Miller to join the team on a permanent basis. Working Hours (Night Shift): - Flexible 4 day Mon-Thurs Night shift. - Either 6pm-6:30am or 6pm-4:30am - Shift allowance of 25% Position Overview: We are looking for a CNC Miller who is proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mills 3 axis). The ideal candidate will have experience working with Heidenhain controls. They will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality production and meeting strict deadlines. Key Responsibilities: * Program, set up, and operate CNC mills to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. * Versed within reverse engineering and repairs within a mixture of medium to heavy environments. * The ability to look at a repair project and decide on the best methods for work holding and machining. * Select and install cutting tools, adjust tool offsets, and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance. * Interpret and modify CNC programs as needed to optimize machining processes and minimize cycle times. * Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations and prevent downtime. * Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances. * Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Requirements: * Proven experience as a CNC Miller with proficiency in programming, setting, and operating mills * Proficiency with Heidenhain controls is required. * CADCAM Experience desirable * Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols. * Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. * Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
