SDET Rate : £550 per day (Inside IR35) Location : Hybrid (London, 2/3 days per week) Start Date : 2nd September 2024 Duration : 6-7 months (initially) Security Clearance : Candidates must hold active SC clearance (NPPV3 preferable) Our client, a leader in innovative technology solutions, is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role requires experience with BDD, Automation Testing, Agile (Scrum), and scripting. You'll work closely with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality testing across all stages of product development. Key Responsibilities : • Collaborate with product teams to define acceptance criteria and testing for each story. • Partner with developers to design and review required tests at unit and component levels. • Perform exploratory testing and automate tests as needed. • Work closely with the product team to define tests for product delivery. • Design and test stubs in collaboration with developers. • Ensure traceability and awareness of test progress, delivering quality metrics in consumable formats. • Raise the profile of quality throughout the product lifecycle. • Contribute to automated test design and build in an Agile team to ensure adequate coverage. • Participate in estimation activities and identify opportunities to maximize test benefits. • Provide test assurance, input on best practices, and ensure standards are met at retrospectives and planning sessions. Required Skills & Experience : • 5 years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer. • Expertise in API testing and tools like Postman. • Hands-on experience with Cypress, Docker, Gitlab, TDD using JUnit, SonarQube, Jenkins, and Splunk. • Familiarity with testing tools like Gatling, Serenity, Cucumber, Selenium, Wiremock, Hamcrest, AWS Cloudwatch. • Experience with Jira and Confluence. • Strong coding skills (SOLID, DI, Design Patterns), and the ability to unit test the built framework. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their importance in the Automation Testing process. • Proficiency in command-line and scripting languages for either Windows or Linux. Desirable Skills : • Experience with Mocks and Stubs. • Advanced DevOps knowledge. • Deep understanding of Agile Development. • Ability to lead projects and design test strategies.
