Junior Mechanical Estimator Up to £35,000 + Package Colchester, Essex gap construction are proud to be representing this market leading building services company in their search for a distinguished and Mechanical Services Estimator to work at their Head Office based in Colchester Our client has a sterling reputation across East Anglia and London working with some of the most prestigious clients within the construction industry. Specialising in Commercial projects including: Healthcare, education, arts & leisure, industrial and offices. Typically completing projects ranging from £500K-£5 million. Performance Objectives The role will involve all aspects of mechanical services estimating of their projects, from enquiry or inception stage through to variations pricing and final account, including (but not limited to): Estimating and pricing enquiries and dealing with tender submissions. Some limited preliminary design for design and install projects tendered. Liaising with clients, main contractors and/or suppliers and subcontractors. Pricing of small works and Variations for live contract work Maintaining company standards and procedures in all aspects of work. Person Specification Relevant experience working for a construction or M&E company Ability to work alone and collectively as part of a team, working under the supervision and direction of senior management and directors. Have a good working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for mechanical & public heath engineering installations. Have a good working knowledge of mechanical services installations, materials and installation types, techniques and applications. A good level of general computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project etc). Experienced and proficient in the use of AutoCAD software would be an advantage but not essential Being able to work on multiple projects at any one time, prioritizing and managing your own workload and time effectively and efficiently. Be conversant with sending out enquiries, obtaining quotations, materials take-off and estimating using a dedicated Software package. Be comfortable in a client facing role and represent the company on a professional manner.
