Position: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Package: £43,000 - £45,000 basic pa + Overtime paid (1.5x, 2x) - 25 days holiday + Bank holidays + Pension + PHI + other benefits
Hours: Days role - 8am-5pm - 40hrs p/wk Mon-Fri (free parking on site)

Key objectives:
The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and has responsibility for carrying out all maintenance tasks in the Preston facilities. Part of a small engineering & maintenance team, the suitable candidate will ideally have experience within the chemical or similar batch process industry. However, the technical skill and experience of the equipment listed below is more important that the process or industry. So therefore, transferable skills are welcomes and full training will be provided on the products and complex processes involved.
Essential skills and experience
- Qualified to a minimum Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Hand on experience on different types of pumps i.e. diaphragm centrifugal and gear pumps
- Hand on experience on different types of valves/actuator/solenoids
- Experience of maintaining different types of gear boxes and installation of different grades of seals.
- Understanding and experience of pneumatics and hydraulics equipment and symbols
- Understanding of mechanical drawings
Desirable:
- Replacement and installation of different types of instrumentation
- Welding Tig & Mig (technicians to use their own welding equipment s)
- Installation and modification of pipework (welded / threaded)
- Understanding of P&IDs
- Familiarity and experience with pressurised equipment and vessels
- FLT WAH Confined Space Certification (course provided)
- Mechanical CompEx qualification (course provided)
- Any supervisory or leadership skills
