Overview Expleo Engineering UK has world class experts in the provision of real-time embedded systems, specialising in safety critical control systems. To continue to grow the business we are now looking for experienced System Engineering, specifically within the Requirements, Verification and Validation and acceptance remit, to join our growing team. Requires concise, logical and accurate communication skills and diplomacy skills Will operate effectively as a senior member of a technical team Must understand technical instructions Must be able to articulate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing, to others at various levels of seniority Responsibilities Translate our customers' vision into clear and concise user, business, and product requirements. System verification Engineer to develop test solutions for functional verification and/or Requirements validation, and acceptance Understanding of Requirements Management in DOORs. Understanding of Interface document management Processing change requests & engaging with stakeholders Undertaking activities to support team deliverables, through planning, scheduling, task management and delegation Work collaboratively with all our engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade studies and resolve engineering issues. In addition to project responsibility, you will play a key role in developing our systems engineering capability more widely. Helping us pivot our focus from products to product platforms to maximise reuse of engineering effort. Providing targeted engineering services & consultancy to our customer base to enhance their use of systems engineering or resolve specific technical challenges. Essential skills Understands engineering principles and approaches underpinning design and development activities and be capable of systems thinking, applying holistic approaches to complex problems Demonstrates understanding, knowledge and experience of Systems Engineering including knowledge of appropriate Systems Engineering standards (e.g. ISO 15288) Strong problem solving skills, both in terms of creative (product design and development) and analytical areas (e.g. performance assessment) Experience of system integration, test and acceptance Experience of reviewing System technical design documents and assessing against requirements Experience of requirements management (e.g. IBM DOORS Next) and application of configuration management Experience of working with large scale complex system designs Experience of multiple phases of an engineering lifecycle and good knowledge of lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) and associated tools (e.g. JIRA) Experience of presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting Good level of IT literacy Higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline Desired skills Appreciation of, or some experience in, software design and development Knowledge of electrical regulations, fire detection/suppression systems and HVAC systems Experience of using a high level design methodology (e.g. UAF, NAF, TOGAF, SysML, UML) Experience of working with contemporary concepts and technologies e.g. MBE, MBSE, digital twins, autonomous systems, AR/VR, AI/ML, IoT, etc. Knowledge of the defence industry, including geopolitical influences and current UK government strategy Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status and/or a relevant professional accreditation e.g. IET MIET CEng; INCOSE UK ASEP or CSEP certification Experience Must be self-motivated and pro-active What do I need before I apply 5 days onsite per week at New Malden.
