The Role: Plastic Extrusion Engineer * Oversee the entire polymer extrusion process, from raw material preparation to the final product * Ensure consistent quality and efficiency in every product through effective monitoring and troubleshooting * Take ownership in resolving any issues related to extrusion processes, ensuring smooth production flow Quality Assurance * Implement and maintain stringent quality control procedures to guarantee product excellence * Conduct regular inspections, collaborate with the QA team, and address any non-conformities swiftly Process Optimisation * Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement in production efficiency * Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to introduce cutting-edge technologies and improve methods * Dive deep into performance metrics to optimise and refine extrusion parameters Equipment Maintenance * Oversee the maintenance of extrusion equipment to ensure everything is running in top condition * Plan and schedule preventive maintenance to avoid any downtime * Work hand-in-hand with the maintenance team for quick equipment repairs and resolutions Collaboration & Communication * Collaborate across teams (production, R&D, quality assurance) to tackle challenges and drive improvements * Provide technical guidance and support to production staff, ensuring smooth communication and solutions are in place Key Skills & Experience * Proven experience in polymer extrusion processes, ideally within an industrial environment * Strong knowledge of polymer materials and their behaviour during extrusion * Familiarity with quality control procedures and a passion for continuous improvement * Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced setting * Effective communication and collaboration skills Preferred Skills * Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to polymer extrusion * Familiarity with **industry standards** and best practices If you are passionate about polymer extrusion and want to join a growing, innovative company, apply today and take the next step in your career! 5S Recruitment – Specialising in placing top talent in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Plastics for over 15 years
