Back End Developer

Join as Senior Backend Engineer

In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for expanding our donations platform through API development and user experience enhancements. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Implement APIs and user experience features to enhance the donations platform.
• Contribute at a highly technical level, helping to establish best practices.
• Actively participate in coding, planning, product development, and delivery.

After 3 months, success will look like:

• You will have formed strong relationships with your teammates.
• Gained an understanding of the product and started contributing ideas for improvement.
• Become a subject matter expert in the platform architecture, suggesting engineering improvements.

What We're Looking For

• Experience developing secure, scalable, resilient systems.
• Strong understanding of databases (Postgres experience preferred).
• Familiarity with monitoring systems, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of back-end architectures.
• Motivated to contribute to the product vision.
• Excellent communication skills with a drive for completing large projects.

Preferred Experience

• 4+ years of experience building APIs and working with databases.
• In-depth knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
• DevOps (AWS, CI/CD, ECS, Docker, Terraform).
• Product-focused mindset.

Bonus Points

• Experience working in a startup environment.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Development.

Role Compensation

• Starting at £77,000+
