Engineering Quality & Safety Assurance Manager

Job Title: Engineering Quality & Safety Assurance Manager Salary: £76,824- £82,908 per annum dependent on experience Location: Carterton, Oxfordshire Aeropeople are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Quality & Safety Assurance Engineer on behalf of our client based in Carterton, Oxfordshire. The business provides end to end maintenance, military and civil flying programmes, training and major aircraft upgrades. Reporting to the Head of Compliance (and COO as Accountable Manager for regulatory purposes), you will be an integral part of the Compliance Department and will be accountable for the continued delivery and development of the company’s quality and safety assurance (compliance monitoring) system as it applies to the engineering and maintenance environment. This also includes full accountability of both civil and military Airworthiness Review activity and Licensed Engineer Authorisation processes. The incumbent must be acceptable to the Regulatory Authorities in the role as nominated (Form 4) Compliance Monitoring Manager for the company’s suite of airworthiness and maintenance regulatory approvals including, but not limited to, UK CAA Part 145, CAMO and MAA Part 145. This will be a hybrid working role- 2 days per week in the office and 3 days per week from home. Main Responsibilities: - Fulfil the UK CAA accepted (CAA Form 1769) role(s) of nominated Compliance Monitoring Manager in accordance with the company’s airworthiness and maintenance regulatory approvals. - Be solely accountable for the effective maintenance, development and delivery of the company’s compliance monitoring processes as applied to airworthiness and maintenance activities in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, including the evaluation and approval of contracted and sub-contracted activity (as applicable). - Take full ownership of the continued integration of such compliance monitoring processes within the company’s wider integrated Management System, including that of Operations Compliance Monitoring, Safety, Security and ISO Management System components. - Own the end-to-end Licenced Engineer Company Authorisation process and ensure it remains effective and efficient at all times. - Review and attest the qualification of UK CAA basic licence and type rating submissions. - Take personal responsibility to build and maintain effective relationships and interfaces with key internal/external stakeholders, Authorities and customers (both MoD and Third-party) including, but not limited to, internal Nominated Postholders (incl. Accountable Manager), Senior Leadership, UK CAA / MAA, Military Continuing Airworthiness personnel, MoD Quality etc. - Host and manage all external audits by outside agencies and authorities in relation to the maintenance and airworthiness approvals. - Be accountable for the robust delivery of the civil and military Airworthiness Review process and associated schedule, ensuring all Signatories remain competent and effective in their delivery. - Actively support all Compliance Department initiatives / workflows at the request of the Head of Compliance. - Deliver demonstratable improvements to the Organisation’s performance through the application of compliance and safety assurance activities and driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout. - Be personally responsible for delivering a safe service in all facets of the role in line with the requirements of the company’s SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems - Manage, develop and lead a team of Quality Assurance Engineers to ensure their skillsets and subsequent activity meets the needs of the organisation and remain, at least, regulatory compliant throughout. - In conjunction with the Operations Quality & Safety Assurance Manager and Safety Manager, lead on the development of comprehensive compliance and safety data sets and subsequent reporting to Senior Leadership as a fundamental component to regulatory-required Management Review.
