Staff/Principal Release Engineer - Semiconductor / Open-Source
We are currently partnered with a world leading semiconductor company specializing in cutting-edge next-generation CPU/CPU technologies. We are currently supporting their System Solutions Group as they look to hire a Staff/Principal Release Engineer.
This position is based in Bristol and will require an onsite presence 2 days per week.

Key responsibilities for this Staff/Principal Release Engineer position:
- Oversee release engineering and branch management for production firmware releases.
- Deliver tested, production-quality downstream firmware releases to partners.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive release plans.
- Prepare detailed release notes and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external collaborators.
- Manage all aspects of the software version control process, ensuring smooth and consistent releases.
- Develop Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines to support the downstream firmware release processes.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in release management and automation for product-quality system software.
- Strong background in software building and build management, particularly for downstream software release candidates and formal releases.
- Experience with Quality Assurance (QA) of platform software for server platforms.
- Defect triaging and management experience in system software releases.
- Familiarity with open-source projects such as the Linux Kernel, TF-A, EDK II, and OpenBMC.
- Line management experience, particularly with diverse teams.
- Hands-on experience with the Yocto SDK.
