Engineering Manager

An engineering manager is required for a manufacturing company based in Nottingham. The candidate will be required to manage around 18-20 members of staff in the machine shop including CNC operators and assembly technicians. This person must have experience working with CNC machines and other similar machines.
Working hours
Monday to Friday. 40 hours a week.
8:00am - 16:30pm (start and end times can be flexible)

Duties

• Managing staff on the machine shop floor
• Effective communication, motivating, planning and delivering on agreed Company objectives
• Able to work independently and contribute as a key member of our management team
• Take responsibility for the manufacture, engineering maintenance, planning and management of all production functions
• Able to interpret and understand engineering drawings/specifications, and manufacturing documentation
• Good understanding of financial performance and KPIs
• A competent understanding of engineering and workshop machinery

Skills

• Understanding of safe working practices
• Strong people and time management skills
• Ideally an engineering apprenticeship
• 3-5 years experience in managing in a machine shop
• Track record of successful hands on Production Management
