The Opportunity This company is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield. This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. The company is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with high-value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors, where you will work in a collaborative environment of nuclear specialists. The Role As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engineering and design activities, developing and implementing engineering solutions for complex engineering projects, identifying design, statutory and regulatory requirements, and contributing to risk assessments. The successful candidate will be able to produce technical reports, technical specifications and scoping calculations, review technical deliverables, including reports and drawings and present engineering solutions to stakeholders and as part of design reviews. You will also be responsible for the design of crane/lifting equipment and familiarity with CE Marking, CDM, PUWER, LOLER, PED, Machinery’s Directive. The role will be based in Birchwood, Warrington. You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience) in an engineering discipline. Attained/ or working towards chartered or incorporated status with a recognized professional body (e.g. IMechE). Experience in the use of Auto desk inventor. Experience of highly regulated environments would be advantageous. Experience of crane/lifting equipment design.
