Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Gas Storage Excellent salary + bonus + private medical + benefits Alton, Hampshire MC Technical Recruitment are recruiting for A Mechanical Technician to work at one of the largest underground gas storage facilities in the UK. This site provides strategic gas storage services that contribute to balancing gas supply and demand within the national gas transmission system. The Mechanical Technician will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for conducting planned and reactive maintenance work on the sites mechanical systems ensure maximum plant availability and minimum downtime. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, responsibilities will include: Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all mechanical assets to maximise plant availability. This includes pumps, valves, compressors, gas turbines etc. Conducting equipment isolations to permit requirements to ensure plant is safe to perform maintenance on Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades Liaising and supervising site contractors when required Assisting during site shutdowns when required Responding to call outs or giving technical advice on plant breakdowns outside normal working hours Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS This role is Monday to Friday role, 7.30am – 4.30pm The ideal candidate will have: An apprenticeship in mechanical engineering along with a relevant qualification at HNC/ONC level or similar At least 4+ years of maintenance experience in mechanical maintenance in a relevant heavy engineering environment – power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical site etc. Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental etc. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a small team Salary and package info: A highly competitive basic salary A performance related bonus Call out payments Private medical cover Group income protection A gym allowance An excellent contributory pension Other benefits to be discussed at interview If you are interested in this role, please apply via the link below or contact Will at MC Technical Recruitment on (phone number removed) / (url removed) for a confidential chat
