Mechanical Inspector

Role: Mechanical Inspector On behalf of our Client VGS is looking for a competent, details orientated Mechanical Inspector. Location – Fawley Duration – 4/5 months Working Patterns - Mon-Fri days is preferred, but the Client will consider 10 on / 4 off days shift pattern. Scope - Mechanical inspector performing line walks of newly installed piping and fixed equipment as per Client’s procedures and specifications. Inspections of fixed equipment which is issued by the Client. Fixed equipment includes tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, drums etc. Review of documentation not a key component of the role. Some inspection of valves, pipe, steelwork, paintwork, nameplates etc. Key Skills/Quals - An API 510 or API 570 certified inspector for vessels and pipe respectively. Beneficial to have working at height training (training will be provided at site but better to have previous experience). There will likely be some vessel entries hence confined space awareness would be ideal. Some experience in painting/coatings but no tickets required, just ability to understand and spot defects. General welding knowledge for weld quality/heat tints etc. Previous Fawley site knowledge preferred
