Qualifications Requried for Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Role The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in mechanical engineering. Chartered status with relevant professional bodies (e.g., IMechE) would be beneficial Skills: Mechanical design expertise: In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fromn concept, Mechanical Handling, Process Systems & Machinery systems for Nuclear & Defence Applications, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You should have extensive knowledge of creating designs that meet specific criteria and understand how these machines work together. Experience of Feasability / Front End Engineering Design / FEED would be of great advantage for this particular role. Leadership skills: As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will manage other engineers working on similar projects. Therefore, excellent leadership experience is required. Communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication abilities are essential since this job involves collaborating closely with clients from different sectors like defence industries where clear instructions need to be conveyed accurately.
