Job Title: 1st Line Service Desk Engineer Wage: £24,000 to £26,000 dependant on experience Location: IDT Support Solutions, currently Newton Le Willows, but imminent move to Birchwood. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated 1st Line Service Desk Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a Managed Services environment and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, and remote tools. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft products (Windows OS, Office 365, etc.). Log and manage support tickets using our ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and excellent customer service. Assist with user account management, including password resets and access permissions. Perform routine system maintenance and updates. Escalate complex issues to second-line support or relevant teams as necessary. Document all support activities and maintain accurate records. Provide guidance and training to end-users on best practices and IT policies. Requirements: Minimum 2 years of experience in a 1st Line Service Desk or similar role. Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows OS, Office 365, Intune and Microsoft Entra. Confident telephone manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus. Knowledge of additional technologies such as WatchGuard/Cisco/Unifi desirable.
