Forklift Field Service Engineer

Contract Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Norwich  who are looking for a Forklift Field Service Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.  Are you hands on and love life out on the open road?    Do you have experience in mechanical engineering?   Are you good at planning?    Can we utilise your organisational skills?    Do you take pride in your work? We are recruiting for an Mechanical Handling Field Service Engineer to join our East Field Service Engineers. The position is full time, and you would work within the Service Department to maintain, repair, service and modify a range of other material handling equipment. Key responsibilities will include: Services, maintaining and overhaul, fault find and resolve on a range of material handling products. Servicing: ⚙️ Gas, diesel and electric powered forklift trucks ⚙️ Using check sheets i.e checking brakes, lifting assembly & steering in working order ⚙️ Changing oil and filters as necessary ⚙️ Thorough Examinations pending qualifications ⚙️ Preventative Maintenance, such as lubricating steering and lifting equipment. Battery Maintenance: ⚙️ Check voltages and fluid levels of forklift trucks, using meters and hydrometers. Your experience/qualities will include: You will have worked with material handling products or hold an engineering position and are looking for the next step to further your career; however, we are open to considering candidates from other backgrounds such as: Automotive, Roadside recovery, Agricultural, REME, Construction Equipment, PSV, HGV, LGV or Plant. ⚙️ Respond to breakdowns. ⚙️ We pride ourselves on our customer service. You’re the face of our company we are looking for someone that can build a good rapport & deal promptly with customer downtime helping to keep their business moving! ⚙️ Shows initiative and can help to support and direct others when they need it as well as accomplish their own tasks. ⚙️ Achieve agreed targets, i.e., response time. ⚙️ Completion of documentation to company standards ⚙️ Liaise with our parts team to ensure appropriate stock levels are held on the company vehicle. ⚙️ We would love your help with working on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains etc.) ⚙️ Do you have experience in Electrical drive and control systems, Diesel and LPG engines and common drive-trains? ⚙️ Hydraulics?
