Section Engineer

A main contractor is recruiting a Section Engineer for a specialist project in Plymouth constructing a new dock. The business is a multi-discipline company with projects upwards of 500m across several divisions including highways, building and rail however they also have a secure flow of work from frameworks for local authorities, National Highways, water companies and the Environment Agency.

Section Engineer duties include:

• Managing junior members of the team on a day-to-day basis
• Direct gangs and subcontractors to achieve maximum output/efficiency
• Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD

The successful candidate will join a long term contract assignment.
