Principal Engineer

Principal Engineer £110k-£120k Hybrid - 2 on average days onsite (flexible) Albany Growth have partnered with a PE backed B2B business that builds workflow software to help create a safer and fairer world. They are currently embarking on a major transformation of modernisation and searching for multiple Principal Engineers to lead this. As an Principal Engineer you will be highly technical and ideally have experience with multiple languages, understanding modern SE and cloud principals. The current tech landscape is varied, consisting of C#, Java, PHP, Kotlin and C++. We are ideally searching for leaders who see technology as a tool, and not pidgeon holed to certain environments. We are looking for hands-on polyglot Principal Engineers that have experience with two or more of the following: .NET Core/C# & Azure Full Microsoft Stack technologies Java & Kotlin PHP & Laravel Front end - React / Angular Requirements: A degree and/or a masters in computer science/technical subject or equivalent hands-on experience 10+ years’ hands-on experience working as a senior software engineer including distributed systems Modern delivery methods including general Agile, test-driven development, and building high-availability, self-healing platforms Designing and maintaining architectural models that scale, are performant and robust A wide exposure to different development techniques and best practices Recruitment and interview skills Strong communication skills, able to work at all levels from senior management to individuals from all part of the organisation Have developed a flexible approach to work, adapting your thinking and delivery methods to achieve the target outcomes Desirable to have full stack experience across backend, frontend and platforms e.g. Java, C#, React, Angular, Azure, AWS with strong exposure to good security practices. Knowledge of app development helpful i.e. Kotlin and Swift. This is an incredibly exiting challenge for individuals that like solving complex problems.
