Due to a sustained period of growth, a hugely successful precision engineering business is hiring for a CNC turner to join their manufacturing team. Known for their ability to provide a quick turn around on complex, high value jobs for customers across Motorsport, Marine and Defence industries, they're looking for a CNC Turner who can essentially take the programme, edit and run the job from start to finish. It's a superb manufacturing facility with modern CNC machinery, tools and equipment needed to make the life of an engineer less stressful.
Responsibilities for the CNC Turner include -
Running a number of Doosan Puma 2 & 3 axis turning lathes with FANUC controls
Editing pre written programmes, modifying and proving out ready for first off
Full setup including tooling, chuck, jaws, material, speeds and feeds
Producing low volume precision parts, including bespoke / prototype parts when required
Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment
Assisting with programme improvements, tooling life and scrap reductionTo be successful in this role, we're looking for the following -
Strong background in part programming or editing of turning programmes using FANUC controls, G Code languages
Capable of manufacturing highly detailed components from a range of materials
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of materials and modern cutting methods.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.Working hours are 39hrs per week, with the option to work either a 4 day or 5 day week
Package on offer for the CNC Turner includes -
An hourly rate of up to £15 p/h depending on experience
Overtime paid at Time & 1/3 for Weekday, Time & 1/2 Saturday
