Job Type: Full-time Contract Type: Permanent Location: Skegness, with occasional work at other sites in Lincolnshire Salary Range: £45,000 - £49,000 (dependent on skills and experience) Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch) Micronclean is one of the UK’s largest providers of workwear solutions and cleanroom consumables, employing over 450 people, predominantly in Lincolnshire. Job Role and Key Responsibilities At Micronclean, our IT team delivers cutting-edge technology to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. We offer our own garment management software and various web solutions. We are seeking a passionate Data Engineer to join our nine-person IT team. You will take ownership of database administration, business intelligence, and reporting functions by ensuring the optimal performance, security, and integrity of our databases and their management systems while also leveraging data to provide actionable insights for business decision-making. Key responsibilities include: • Design, implement, monitor, and proactively maintain database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements for data storage, analysis, and reporting projects, translating these business needs into technical specifications. • Lead the development and implementation of database, data warehousing, and BI solutions, prioritising regulatory and legislative changes, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. • Design, implement, and maintain reports and dashboards based on business requirements and data sources. • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement. • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making. • Perform regular system audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with evolving security standards. • Develop, implement, maintain, and regularly test data backup policies and disaster recovery procedures to maintain data integrity and security. • Create and maintain documentation for database, data warehousing, and BI configurations, processes, and solutions. Essential: • Strong expertise in database management systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). • Proficiency in SQL and database scripting languages. • Experience with BI and reporting tools and data visualisation (e.g. Power BI, Crystal Reports). • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong project management and organisational abilities. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards. • Experience generating reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Desirable: • Experience implementing Data Warehousing solutions.
