Senior Multi-Skilled Design Engineer

Design Engineer c. £40,000 - £50,000 (negotiable dependent on skillset and experience) Margate – 5 days on site Mon-Fri 37.5hrs – flexi-time Rare opportunity to join a thriving global market leading Engineering company who are at the forefront of their field! We are currently seeking an experienced, qualified and ‘hands on’ multi-skilled Engineer with a background in designing industrial products to join a small but established R&D team, developing a range of bespoke products for a range of applications. Please note this is a senior level Design Engineer role requiring a candidate who is educated to degree level (or equivalent) within a relevant Engineering field and can demonstrate a proven track record in managing the full NPD lifecycle from design through to testing. Duties for the Product Design Engineer include: Working collaboratively as part of a small R&D team, liaising with other stakeholders internally and externally Carrying out research to support the NPD process, including evaluation of existing products and offering technical support for re-design and problem solving Collating, analysing and presenting data Innovatively and collaboratively designing and developing bespoke products to client specifications Use of CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks) Physically testing design within on site testing and validation facilities. Working within critical and functional safety manufacturing environment with awareness of and adherence to relevant safety guidelines. Offering support and technical guidance to manufacturing shop floor. Trouble shooting, fault-finding and creatively solving design problems with a focus on continuous improvement All associated administration, project management and documentation Any other duties as required. To be considered for this exclusive career opportunity, you will be an experience Development Engineer with: A glowing academic record, educated to degree level or equivalent in a related Engineering field Solid experience working within R&D in a relevant industrial field designing and testing products from start to finish Mechanical, electrical and electronics experience and knowledge A genuine passion for Engineering  Advanced CAD skills – Inventor or SolidWorks preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Practical as well as theoretical skills.
