Curia Scotland has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team as a multiskilled Maintenance Engineer based at our Glasgow, G20 site. For this role, it is highly advantageous for the candidate to know about GMP (good manufacturing practices), have cleanroom experience, and ideally have worked in a production/manufacturing environment. This role lends itself to someone who wants to learn a broad aspect of maintenance engineering skills with a bias on electrical maintenance that would see the candidate be involved with a variety of production and facility processes, some of which include: autoclaves, lyophilisers, automated filling lines, purified water systems, lighting and HVAC.


Your responsibilities will include attending to breakdowns of equipment, performing fault-finding, and conducting root cause analysis to ensure everything runs smoothly. You’ll also play a crucial role in supporting the wider facilities team and liaising with specialist contractors. Our engineers also partner with our production team and execute tasks in a production environment to ensure the continuous operation of the site.


Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan and deliver routine PPM on-site equipment

operating with a Computerised Maintenance System

Evaluate breakdowns and perform repairs as required

Highly organised with an attention to detail, completing documentation clearly and accurately.

Coordinate external contractors on site for PPM and repair

Liaise with departments to provide support and solutions to challenges

Clear written and verbal communication to the Facilities team on shift handover activities.

Collaborate across the site to actively contribute to continuous improvement ideas, Health and Safety activities and join in to support other affinity groups which may include, Veterans, DE+I or the women's affinity group.

Actively participate in team meetings to add value by contributing improvements ideas and solutions

Multi-discipline maintenance ideally with a bias towards electrical and including Mechanical and Instrumentation is desired.

Working knowledge of HVAC, water treatment and steam systems

Ability to work as part of the team but also be able to prioritise own workload to achieve deadlines.

Well organised with excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving.

Strong level of written and verbal communication.

Previous experience or knowledge of working in a cGMP environment is highly beneficial.

GMP requires detailed trending, reporting and traceability captured within documentation. Therefore, it is required to have a good level of written English, maths and clear handwriting.


Skills and Qualifications

Recognised engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent)

Ideally already holds 18th edition electrical certificate or equivalent to perform electrical duties

Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience

Strong IT skills are essential

A basic understanding of PLCs and HMIs is desirable

Hours, salary and benefits: around a 3 weekly rotational 8-hour shifts including breaks between: 6:30am to 2:30pm, 2pm to 10pm, 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, paid overtime, shift allowance, daily on-call allowance around 1 in 4, competitive salary with excellent staff benefits that include:
