About the Role:
My client are seeking an experienced and qualified Fire Door Engineer (Surveyor) to join there team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out fire door and fire stopping inspections, surveys, repairs, and installations, ensuring that all work complies with current regulations and industry standards. This role will involve working across various sites in London and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough fire door surveys and inspections to assess compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Accurately document findings, recommendations, and works completed in reports.
  • Ensure all fire doors meet the requirements of relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on fire door safety and compliance to clients.
  • Collaborate with the project management team and provide updates on project progress.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and standards related to fire doors and fire safety.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Fire Door Engineer or Surveyor, ideally within the fire safety industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fire door regulations (BS 476, BS EN 1634, BS 8214) and building regulations related to fire doors.
  • Ability to identify faults in fire doors and frames.
  • Relevant certifications in fire door inspection, installation, or maintenance (e.g., FIRAS, BM TRADA Q-Mark, FDIS, Blue Sky).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within London and surrounding areas.

Desirable:

  • Experience with risk assessments and fire safety consulting.
  • Ability to use fire door inspection software tools.
