Control Systems Engineer (6 Month Contract) - EV - Leicestershire - £40ph to £75ph


About the Role:

Join an innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) company at the forefront of the clean energy revolution! We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer for a 6-month contract to support the development and optimization of control systems in our EV production and testing facilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration and performance of advanced control systems that power EV technologies.

Rate: £40ph to £75ph

Duration: 6 Months


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and optimize control systems for electric vehicle powertrains, battery management systems (BMS), and charging infrastructure.
  • Program and configure PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems to ensure real-time data monitoring and control of EV systems.
  • Develop control algorithms for energy efficiency, motor control, and system performance optimization.
  • Integrate control systems with embedded software and hardware for seamless vehicle operation.
  • Conduct system testing, simulation, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure system reliability and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and safety regulations.


Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in control systems engineering, ideally within the automotive or EV industry.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) and experience with SCADA and HMI systems.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle control systems, motor control, and battery management systems (BMS) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with CANbus, Modbus, and other communication protocols used in automotive systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in debugging and optimizing complex systems.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
