Structural Engineer

Your new company HAYS collaborates with a well-established company specialising in designing and manufacturing construction industry products. We're currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in the past 40 years, this company has become a market leader, operating across multiple sites in the UK and Europe. Their iconic structures and engineering excellence have been widely recognised, and they play a crucial role in delivering the UK's largest and most complex projects. Your new role As a Structural Engineer, you'll work alongside an established team, reporting directly to the Design Manager. The main responsibility will be providing engineering design from tender appraisal through to construction. Key responsibilities: Providing steel weight estimates and concept designs aligned with company standards and project specifications. Creating clear design sketches. Monitoring job progress within specified schedules. Checking drawings and structural calculations from colleagues and sub-vendors. Liaising with subcontractors for contracted-out structural design work. Utilising Master-series for structural design. Handling other assigned duties as needed. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in the Structural Steel Engineering role, you must have the following qualifications: A degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering. 1-2+ years UK experience in structural engineering and 3D design. Proficiency in 3D analysis environments. Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Effective communication with foreign clients, colleagues, and suppliers. Knowledge of Master-series (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other software is advantageous). Practical technical background relevant to the position. Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to project completion.
