My client is a leading technology firm based in London, driving innovation across the globe. Their latest project aims to revolutionize the product licensing market with an industry-first solution allowing the biggest and best companies to track the sustainability of their products. They are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join their dynamic team, contributing to the development and scalability of this groundbreaking product.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate new applications and features.
• Enhance the stability and performance of existing software.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to research and implement new technologies and design patterns.
• Ensure the best possible experience for users.

Requirements:

• Passionate technologists who view IT and technology as a hobby.
• Strong software development and application architecture experience with open-source technologies.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, user-centric environment (start-up or scale up experience in a company that uses large data sets.).
• Proven experience scaling online services, applications, and platforms.
• Extensive experience leading large-scale Node.js enterprise SaaS projects. (Node.js expert is a must!)
• Deep understanding of cloud-native services, micro-services, distributed systems, and streaming systems. (AWS)
• Experience in building and troubleshooting large-scale cloud management systems.
• Familiarity with Swagger, Express, and Sequelize frameworks.
• Proficiency with RESTful services and APIs.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL as the primary data source. (this is a must)
• Knowledge of Elastic Search and Redis, with effective caching strategies.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
• Experience in Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Knowledge of big data and/or machine learning pipelines.
• Experience with cloud hosting services such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Kafka.
