Electrical Shift Leader

Job Description: Electrical Shift Leader Salary: £43,500 per annum Location: Central London Working Hours: Early Shift (6:00 AM 3:00 PM) and Late Shift (2:00 PM 11:00 PM), alternating weekly Company Overview: Our client is a well-established facilities management company, specialising in the maintenance of commercial buildings across London. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Shift Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of the electrical team within a commercial environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role with a 50/50 split between hands-on work and management duties. Position Overview: As an Electrical Shift Leader , you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a 2-person shift team, ensuring all electrical systems are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves a 50/50 hands-on/off split , where you will work alongside engineers and manage contractors, compliance, and operational permits. You will also be required to be on-call 1 in 4 weeks , with a call-out fee of £125 for being on call. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a 2-person shift team, overseeing the maintenance of electrical systems . Book and manage contractors, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Oversee Permits to Work and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs) . Provide support to the Shift Engineer , ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Handle reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks. Be available for on-call duty 1 in 4 weeks , with a £125 call-out allowance. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as an Electrical Shift Leader or similar role in a commercial building environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and maintenance processes. Ability to manage contractors, permits , and compliance tasks effectively. Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., 17th/18th Edition , City & Guilds Level 3 ). Excellent leadership and communication skills. Additional Information: Salary of £43,500 per annum.
