Senior Controls & Automation Engineer * Full Project Lifecycle * Machines Manufacturer * West Sussex, UK * £45.000 - £65.000 + Christmas Bonus + Private Medical + DIS x 2 + 8% Pension We are working with an established Machines Manufacturer based in West Sussex, UK. They are recruiting for a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to join their team. In return for a salary in the region £45.000 - £65.000 along with excellent employment benefits. They are looking for an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to work alongside the engineering team on existing and new products in the filling and packaging industry. The applicant will be required to work on full life cycle of projects but with particular focus on customer and aftersales technical support. Key Responsibilities include: * Assist customers and service engineers with technical queries via email, telephone and remote access. * Travel to customer sites UK and occasionally worldwide (on average no more than once or twice per year) for breakdowns, software modifications and customer training. * Create electrical BOMs using Microsoft Navision. * Design electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical. * Design new PLC and HMI software and modify existing software. * Commissioning and testing machines in the factory in preparation for FATs. * Write operation and maintenance manuals. Requirements: * Electrical and software design experience. * AutoCAD experience (ideally AutoCAD Electrical) * PLC and HMI writing experience in any of the following: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or Omron. * Strong technical document writing skills using Microsoft Office products. * Experience in working on site and troubleshooting problems. * Eligible to work in the UK and travel worldwide. * Full UK driving licence or equivalent. Desirable Requirements: * Experience with motion control (Siemens S110/S120, Omron G5 servos) * Microsoft Navision.
