We are recruiting on behalf of a client that is a leader in delivering innovative and sustainable power solutions across the UK and Europe. They specialize in the design, planning, implementation, control, and maintenance of energy systems, with a focus on supporting data centres and the financial sector. We are looking for an experienced Senior Design/Controls Engineer to join their growing team and take on a key role in the design and integration of advanced control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate PLC/SCADA-based control systems for data centres and industrial environments.
- Develop and maintain automation software to optimize system functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical and operational requirements.
- Lead the safety system assessments and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and resources for multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client specifications.
- Oversee commissioning and performance testing of control systems, including factory and site acceptance tests.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in control systems design and integration, with a particular focus on PLC and SCADA systems (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Schneider).
- Proven experience with data centre power solutions and automation software development.
- Strong technical background in manufacturing systems and integration with PLC hardware/software.
- Ability to read and amend technical documentation and electrical drawings.
- Experience with industrial Ethernet networks (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to travel across Europe as required.
- A degree, HNC, HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
