Sales Estimator (Precision Engineering)

Are you a trained mechanical engineer with good knowledge of machine shop practices?

Have you at least five years' experience in a sales focused role?

Can you estimate and cost (alongside other team members and with the apporiate literature) the price of new enquiries that come into the business?

Our client is a well established sub-contract CNC machine shop that receives a lot of legacy enquiries from their long history of supplying multiple markets (medical, automotive, electronics, aerospace, nuclear, general enginering). They need to engage a competent Sales Estimator who can take an initial enquiry (someone calls in and says they want and asks if you can help) and decide if it's worth quoting for. If it is something you should quote for, they want this Sales Estimator to take the engineering drawing and decide the method of manufacture and accurately work out the time and cost ensuring that the company can achieve the correct margins on the work. This might be for a complex one-off or a large batch.The job requires high levels of numeracy and computer literacy.

We are looking for an individual with a machine shop background at supervisory level with commercial experience or an existing Sales Engineer or Sales Estimator who could be interested in moving on.
