Building Services Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Services Engineer to join an interior refurbishment contractor based in Hertfordshire. Our client is a well-established, privately owned business, known for delivering high-end luxury refurbishments across multiple sectors. With an in-house team specialising in Project Management, Concept and Technical Design and Procurement, they have a skilled and diverse workforce including project managers, SMSTS-trained site managers, joiners, electricians, and decorators. The Role: As the Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and producing the Mechanical and Electrical design of various projects typically from RIBA stage 3. Your role will involve close collaboration with client-side MEPH consultants, managing relationships with the supply chain, and working alongside the Project and Cost Management teams to refine and deliver design solutions. This position offers a balance of office-based work and on-site visits, with all projects located within Central London and the surrounding areas (inside the M25). Key Responsibilities: * Manage the Mechanical and Electrical design of projects. * Co-ordinate and develop the services design * Liaise with the client’s MEPH consultant and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain. * Work closely with the internal Project Management and Cost Management teams to ensure smooth design development and execution. * Conduct site visits and manage day-to-day project requirements as needed. Ideal Candidate Profile: * Our client is looking for a talented and motivated individual with the following experience and skills: * 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role. * A mechanically biased MEPH designer with on-site experience in HVAC installation. * Proficiency in CAD software. * Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently lead a team of consultants to meet project deadlines. * A background in on-site trade work is highly desirable.
