QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS * Higher technical education (MSc, BSc or equivalent). Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education. * The position requires a high level of competence within project execution and technical operation. * Good knowledge related to; operational activities, construction work, workmanship and material knowledge. * Knowledge of regulatory requirements and governmental authorities’ expectations * Good oral and written English and Norwegian skills are required. * Sufficient computer skills in relevant software. DUTIES/TASKS * Take responsibility for efficient delivery of technical support within marine discipline; operational support and marine analyses. * Communicate with OTL organization, operational personnel, clients, project managers and suppliers * Take responsibility for keeping the discipline up to date with best practice analysis and work methods including applicable regulatory requirements. * Provide input and support in long term plans and improvement initiatives for the company on upgrades, class renewals and modifications. JOB DESCRIPTION * SVP Projects & Engineering * Partaking in developing the discipline; work methods and in-house analysis software * Partaking and advising in multidiscipline projects * Partaking in conceptual studies predominately related to projects and engineering. * Support in development of optimized procedures and guidelines according to design, applicable rules and regulations for own discipline, CMS level 1-3 * Provide tender support. * Provide technical support to investigations of incidents/accidents and verify results of investigation reports. * Assist to solve non-productive time (NPT) situations. * Contribute to continuous improvement and implementation of modern methods for improving work processes. * Performing various marine analyses for units operating worldwide, in accordance with applicable class and authority rules and regulations; herein mooring analyses, riser analyses and stability analyses. * Provide technical input to operational methods and solutions. * Development of operational procedures and guidelines KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The engineer is responsible for efficient deliveries of technical support within marine discipline to the MODU rig organization. This responsibility also includes keeping the discipline up to date with best practice analysis and work methods including applicable regulatory requirements. Social responsibilities * Contribute to create a good working environment. * Contribute to recommend improvements, as well as record discrepancies with suggestions for corrective measures. * Work with management to develop own expertise. Systems Follow all applicable instructions and procedures to maintain a good quality and effectiveness of the work and use the systems and programs required and authorized by the company.
