Server Engineer

Server Engineer Our Client is looking for a skilled IT Server Engineer to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of our server infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to the reliability and performance of our IT systems. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers, ensuring high availability and performance. Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise systems for efficiency and security. Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to maintain server integrity. Assist with the design and implementation of server architecture and solutions. Provide support for server-related issues, including storage and network performance. Implement and manage virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure server and network integration and functionality. Document processes, configurations, and server infrastructure changes.Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Server Engineer or similar role. In-depth knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux). Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Strong understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and storage technologies. Familiarity with server security, patch management, and performance tuning. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
