Immediate requirement for a skilled Site Engineer with specialized experience in structures to join one of our esteemed clients on a major highways project. This freelance role is ideal for an engineer who has a strong background in managing structural elements of infrastructure projects, particularly within the highways sector.
The Role:
As a Site Engineer, you'll be central to the successful delivery of the structural components of this major highways project. Your expertise in structures will be crucial as you oversee the technical aspects, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, accurately, and in compliance with the design specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Management: Oversee and manage the structural elements of the project, including bridges, retaining walls, and other related infrastructure.
Setting Out: Perform precise setting out for all structural components, ensuring accuracy in alignment, levels, and dimensions.
Technical Support: Provide expert technical guidance on structural issues, ensuring all work adheres to design specifications and quality standards.
Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes, ensuring that all structural works meet the project's high standards and relevant industry regulations.
Health & Safety: Enforce strict compliance with Health & Safety policies, with particular attention to the unique risks associated with structural works on highways.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of structural activities, including setting out data, progress reports, and inspection records.
Who We're Looking For:
To excel in this role, you should have:
Relevant Qualifications: HNC, degree level, or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on structural engineering.
Specialized Experience: Proven experience in delivering structural works on major highways projects, with a deep understanding of the associated challenges and requirements.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of setting out techniques and construction processes specific to structures in highways environments.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to ensuring all structural work is delivered to the highest quality and safety standards.
Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive mindset with the ability to quickly resolve issues related to structural works, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.
