Job Requirements / Description
Fire Engineer required to join a multidisciplinary built environment consultancy to work across a range of buildings and sectors, on different fire safety challenges and issues.
Responsibilities:
* Compiling fire strategy reports and collaborating with stakeholders throughout the design process.
* Assisting clients with meeting requirements under relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022, relevant secondary legislation, the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Fire Safety Order (as amended).
* Conducting fire risk analysis and providing guidance on appropriate control measures.
* Supporting internal design teams as part of multi-disciplinary projects.
* Addressing various fire safety challenges and issues across a diverse range of buildings and sectors.
* Maintaining regular communication with Client’s team to co-ordinate inspection programmes and remedial works.
* Gathering on site particulars, documenting required schedules of works, preparing specifications, obtaining estimates, planning work schedules and monitoring on site progress whilst ensuring compliance with specifications.
* Applying a practical and systematic approach to problem solving, adhering to fixed budgets and working within tight deadlines.
* Offering advice with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire Related matters.
Qualifications:
* Fire safety or fire risk engineering degree is essential.
* You will hold membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers and will have achieved or be working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council.
* You must be fully conversant with current fire safety legislation including the Building Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and technical standards as well as a full understanding of current fire safety issues, trends and best practice.
