Job Specification Engineering Coordinator The fixed infrastructure team are responsible for the technical assessment, design, and delivery of a range of complex Information and Communications Technology (ICT) programmes and projects vital to support shore-based ICT infrastructure, WiFi and telecoms systems/services. The Navy Digital ICT Team requires a technical service with experienced information, engineering and programme/project expertise to deliver and maintain key telephony, communication, WiFi and ICT infrastructure projects to replace systems and services that are being retired or becoming end-of-life while maintaining essential Health & Safety certification for equipment cabinets and electrical services. The service must ensure and assure digital capabilities are compliant with established Ministry of Defence (MOD) Force generation, change management and Assurance processes. These systems and services support critical operational and safety-related outputs for the Navy. Responsibilities Manage and co-ordinate resources to meet the activities passed down from the IDA lead. Oversee all installation work to ensure quality and relevant MOD standards are applied (ICT, information security, delivery, compliance, safety, communications, firestopping and Infrastructure) Manage third party contractors and ensure delivery to time and cost. Ensure resources are appointed to jobs and forward look to assist with planning by the IDA lead. Ensure all RAMS and if required CDM documentation is ready and available per job. Ensure the installation engineers are fully compliant before commencing any works (4C's, site bookings, travel arrangements etc). Have overall responsibility for the materials and ensuring technical designs are followed in accordance with the ECR Process. Assist the IDAs during on site surveys and provide expert advice regards materials and installation. Ensure materials are purchased to meet job commitments and keep relevant stock as required. Be able to manage the installation team's workload and their engineers without direct guidance or interreference, raising issues only as required to the IDA lead. Tasking Support to Installation Design work as required for infrastructure change requests across the Navy Estate, directed by the IDA team leader or in their absence the Telecoms and Fixed Infrastructure Service Lead Person Specification To be considered for this role you will have the following: Essential Skills Have a good understanding of the MOD ECR Process and the Installation Design Authority standards associated with it. Have previously worked on MOD ICT infrastructure installations. Have worked with RAMS and preparing for work safely. SC Clearance Understanding of Fire Stopping regulations Understanding of BS7671 18th Edition for Electrical Standards Knowledge of: BS EN 50173, BS EN 50174, BS EN50346 Knowledge of JSP 604 leaflets 4800 / 1 Driving Licence and vehicle Must be able to operate effectively in an office location or remote Portsmouth based but travel will be expected across the UK Desirable Skills Knowledge of SDIP29/2 JSP 375 MOD Health and Safety Previously worked under CDM regulations and prepared the CDM documentation.
