Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

QA Automation Engineer – Cutting-Edge Technology (SC Clearance Required) Location: London (hybrid 2-3 days a week) Day Rate: £550 a day Inside IR35 We are looking for a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer to join a leading technology-driven organization. As part of a dynamic tech team, you will work in an Agile (Scrum) environment, contributing to high-quality software delivery through automation testing . This role offers the opportunity to work with innovative tools and technologies in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the product team to define acceptance criteria and test Definition of Done (DOD) for user stories. Pair with developers to define and review tests covering all features and functions, from unit to component levels. Conduct exploratory testing at multiple levels and automate tests where required. Work with the product team to establish tests throughout the delivery lifecycle and live deployment. Design and test stubs in collaboration with developers to ensure proper integration. Ensure tests validate Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and maintain traceability throughout the product delivery. Communicate test progress and quality metrics to ensure clarity and alignment within the team. Actively participate in Agile team processes, contributing to the design and development of automated tests to ensure comprehensive coverage. Provide assurance of user stories and collaborate closely with developers to meet test requirements. Participate in estimations , identifying opportunities to enhance testing effectiveness within the team. Contribute to team retrospectives, advocating for test best practices and continuous improvement. Must-Have Skills: SC Clearance is required, with NPPV3 preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer . Experience with BDD , TDD , and automation testing . Strong proficiency in API testing using Postman. Experience with Cypress , Docker , Gitlab , and CI/CD pipelines . Hands-on experience with Jenkins , SonarQube , Selenium , Cucumber , and Serenity . Knowledge of PACT frameworks for Consumer Driven Contract Testing. Strong coding skills (SOLID principles, Design Patterns , Dependency Injection ). Experience with test assurance in Agile teams and test-first development. Strong written and verbal communication skills Nice to Have: Experience with mocks and stubs , advanced DevOps knowledge, and Agile development. Ability to lead projects and design test strategies. Familiarity with AWS Cloudwatch , Gatling , Wiremock , Splunk , and Hamcrest . Contract Details: Day Rate: £550/day Contract Type: Inside IR35 Location: London (Hybrid 2-3 days a week)
