Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways project on a freelance basis. This role is key to ensuring smooth communication and coordination between the day and night shifts, with responsibilities focused on the successful handover of work to the night shift team.   Key Responsibilities:   -     Attend daily intimation meetings with the day shift team to plan and support the night shift activities. -     Collaborate with sub-contractors, communicating progress, resource requirements, and any issues identified in the night shift daily report. -     Assist the document controller with processing as-built records submitted by night shift engineers. -     Represent the night shift team in progress, Health & Safety (H&S), and planning meetings. -     Maintain regular communication with the Traffic Management Manager to ensure traffic management plans are accurately followed for planned works. -     Deputise for the night shift agent, supporting the maintenance of a three-week lookahead programme.   Requirements:   -     Proven experience in civil engineering, particularly in highway projects. -     Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with different teams. -     Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and traffic management processes. -     Capable of managing records, reports, and documentation accurately. -     Flexibility and willingness to work the 14:00-22:00 shift pattern.   For more information please click APPLY NOW or call Harvey Barlow on (phone number removed).   FOOTNOTE: If you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the rate, location or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
