We are working with a leading client in the water sector that is seeking an exceptional Process Design Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis.

This role is perfect for a highly skilled and chartered professional who has extensive UK experience in clean water projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the process design of clean water treatment projects from initial concept through to detailed design stages.
  • Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical specifications for water treatment systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them through design processes and problem-solving.
  • Conduct design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, providing technical input and ensuring project requirements are met to the highest standard.
  • Ensure project designs are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive UK experience as a Process Design Engineer within the water sector, specifically on clean water projects.
  • Strong expertise in water treatment processes such as filtration, coagulation, disinfection, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, or similar.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with strong problem-solving abilities.
