We are working with a leading client in the water sector that is seeking an exceptional Process Design Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis.
This role is perfect for a highly skilled and chartered professional who has extensive UK experience in clean water projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the process design of clean water treatment projects from initial concept through to detailed design stages.
- Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical specifications for water treatment systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them through design processes and problem-solving.
- Conduct design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, providing technical input and ensuring project requirements are met to the highest standard.
- Ensure project designs are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive UK experience as a Process Design Engineer within the water sector, specifically on clean water projects.
- Strong expertise in water treatment processes such as filtration, coagulation, disinfection, and chemical dosing systems.
- Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, or similar.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with strong problem-solving abilities.
