Field Engineer - Service & Installation Engineer

Electrical Mechanical & Gas Laundry Equipment

Newport, Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester, & surrounding areas

THE JOB

Established for over 20 years, a renowned family business who are suppliers of commercial and industrial laundry equipment, are seeking a Field Engineer to join their team.

As a service & installation Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing commercial & industrial laundry equipment at customer locations, minimising downtime and providing exceptional customer service.

Your Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and test commercial and industrial laundry equipment at customer sites
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment breakdowns
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, both mechanical and electrical, and perform necessary repairs
  • Replace faulty components, such as motors, pumps, valves, and control panels, as needed
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment settings to ensure accurate operation and efficient performance
  • Keep accurate records of service and maintenance activities, including completed work orders, parts used, and hours worked
  • Provide technical support and assistance to customers, answering their questions and guiding them on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other team members, including sales and customer service, to provide a seamless customer experience

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Training will be provided to those who have:

  • Field Service Engineer or Installation Engineer experience
  • Electrical single & three-phase knowledge
  • Able to use a multi-meter & read schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams
  • Mechanical or Gas Engineer experience an advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer focused
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Full UK Driver's licence and able travel to customer sites across the UK
  • Advantage - commercial equipment or industrial laundry experience

HOURS & REMUNERATION

  • 37hrs week - early finish Friday!
  • Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm and early finish Friday 8am - 1pm
  • From £35,000 basic (to £40,000 if ACS Gas certified)
  • Overtime payments
  • Gas training provided if not Gas qualified
  • 30 days holiday (inc stats)
  • Company vehicle, tools, uniform, etc
  • Occasional overnight stays including around the United Kingdom and Europe
