Job Requirements / Description
Experienced Quality Inspector required for family run business based in Bodmin. Working as part of the metrology department, the successful candidate will manage the day to day running of the CMM which includes operating, creating programs when required along with ensuring the quality of the product coming through is up to the required standard. You will also work with other engineering disciplines to enhance and develop measurement methods. Please note, to apply for this position candidates must have the immediate right to work in the UK. Key Responsibilities: * To inspect mechanical components to drawings accurately and confidently. * Create / complete calibration documents. * Write programmes for the CMM. * Use manual methods of inspection accurately and correctly. * To ensure that the equipment used is within the calibration period and hasn’t expired. * Work with managers and supervisors to implement the Company’s policies and business objectives. * Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy. * Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability as required. Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required: * Good understanding of Quality Inspection practices including experience of CMM equipment. * Keen interest in dimensional metrology, kinematic design, system modelling, measurement uncertainty, alignment/assembly principles. * Ability to use OGP / Zone 3 software or similar, training will be given. * Experience of offline programming via 3D geometry. * Willingness to introduce, manage & document state of the art metrology processes such as MBD & parametric programming of similar generic parts. * GCSE Science and Maths or equivalent. * Good manual dexterity. * Experience with reading Engineering drawings. * Understanding of geometrical tolerances. * Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with people. * Good general IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Access. * Good time management skills coupled with the ability to work under own initiative. Beneficial Experience & Education: * Previous experience with OGP smartscope CNC300 optical/ tactile probing and Keyence IM8020 optical will be advantageous. * Related Engineering qualification is preferred but not essential.
