About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a wide range of projects across Southern England, Wales, and the Midlands. As a key player in this role, you will lead geo-environmental and geotechnical investigations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical services for clients in sectors such as residential development, commercial projects, and environmental consultancy. You will also have the opportunity to manage and mentor a small team of engineers, supporting their development while maintaining project excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, develop, and mentor a small team of engineers to meet project goals.
- Site Investigation & Assessment: Oversee detailed site contamination assessments and geotechnical investigations using industry-standard methodologies.
- Technical Expertise: Lead the design and implementation of remediation strategies, as well as conduct laboratory testing for geotechnical and environmental parameters.
- Reporting & Documentation: Produce detailed interpretative reports for geo-environmental and geotechnical projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Project Management: Manage client relationships, monitor project costs, and ensure timely project delivery while maintaining a focus on health, safety, and quality standards.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and quality regulations (HSEQ) throughout project execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (geology, environmental science, civil engineering). A Master’s degree or further qualifications would be highly advantageous.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in ground investigation, with significant exposure to geo-environmental projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of contaminated land regulations, remediation techniques, and geotechnical analysis. Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes is a plus.
- Certifications: Chartership with a recognized professional body is preferred.
- Driving License: Full, clean driving license is essential.
