Electronic Design Engineer

Electronics Engineer, Oxfordshire, to c. £70K + bonus + excellent holiday allowance + fantastic facilities and work environment A very interesting Electronics Engineer / Software mix job, to join a really friendly expanding, high technology company who are leading the world in high precision positioning, navigation and mapping technology development. The position involves working as part of an R & D team designing, developing, testing and maintaining state of the art positioning, mapping and navigation products, consisting of both Hardware and Firmware, for the automotive, autonomous vehicles and surveying / geo-mapping industries. You will also be involved with verifying hardware designs, developing test benches etc. The role requires knowledge of both digital and analogue electronics, together with knowledge of software design. Essential skills - • Digital / Analogue Electronics Design experience • Firmware: C/C++ experience in real time embedded systems, including design and testing for multi-threading, complex debugging techniques and common communication protocols • Experience of testing firmware for low to medium volume production, including unit and system level testing, planning and execution • Hardware: Some experience and knowledge of schematic capture, PCB design and layout • Involvement in / management of code quality processes, including code reviews, version control and formal release processes • Ability to analyse hardware / firmware interaction faults Nice to have - • Experience of working with inertial sensors / inertial navigation systems or Digital Signal Processing • Practical networking experience (Ethernet, CAN, etc.) • Mechanical/system design experience i.e., enclosure design, thermal analysis So, if you are a 3+ years experienced Electronics Design / Firmware Engineer, and you are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer job where you will be working within a high calibre R & D Team on interesting products and technologies, this Electronics / Firmware mix job could be exactly what you are looking for
