Drainage & Highways Engineer

Our client, a medium consulting company with offices across the UK, are looking for a Drainage & Highways Engineer to join their growing team in London, England! What you will need: * Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering * Chartered or working towards * Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) of working on projects where drainage/highways was a key/integral component of the design * Competence with appropriate software packages * Experience within civil design environment preferably within a consultancy environment * Experience of work winning including risk identification and mitigation * Ability to represent the company on site visits/surveys (sometimes in unsociable hours) in a professional manner * Experience of infrastructure projects, preferably rail or power sectors Your responsibilities will include: * Work with the team to provide specialist knowledge and drainage/highways designs as well as other projects as required * Undertake design for infrastructure projects, including 3D surface modelling and hydraulic drainage design. * Represent at client, contractor, and local authority meetings. * Knowledge of design and approvals for S278 and S38 highway schemes with design capability when supervised by senior staff. * Knowledge of design and approvals of S104, S106 and S185 drainage schemes, including awareness of current drainage legislation and sustainable drainage practice. * Knowledge and awareness of the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments. * Knowledge of working with relevant CAD package and drainage modelling software such as FLOW or Micro drainage
