Long established Consultancy specialising in all forms of Electrical and Mechanical aspects of the Building Services and Construction Industry based in Portsmouth are succession planning for the future. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who has solid deign experience, a demonstrable background of attending site and dealing with contractors, some experience of condition surveying would be very helpful. Ideally they are looking for a mechanical bias, although electrical will absolutely be considered - it's more important to get the right fit from a culture perspective.
Projects are very wide ranging and the business is incredibly stable because of this. The majority of their projects are based in London and the South East and include NHS, private schools, MoD, prisons, leisure facilities, industrial and commercial - it's about as varied it gets.
From a culture point of view, they are looking for someone who can slot into the team, who is able to deal with clients and who enjoys a "grown up" flexible environment.
This is a role for a solid and stable design engineer, looking for longevity - their staff retention is second to none.
