Intermediate Sustainability Engineer (Hybrid Role) In response to the increasing demand for environmentally-conscious building design, the importance of sustainable architecture has become more crucial than ever. Sustainability plays a key role throughout the lifecycle of a building— from design to operation and optimization. Professionals in this field employ cutting-edge technologies and best practices to ensure projects meet necessary environmental standards. This includes expertise in both building physics and sustainability assessments. This full-time, hybrid role (50% in-office) is based in London. Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects across various sectors including healthcare, commercial, aviation, and data centres. * Provide building physics consultancy, including energy and CFD modelling, as well as sustainability assessments using methodologies such as BREEAM, LEED, and WELL. * Manage multiple projects, participating in all stages from design through execution and beyond, while ensuring time management and accountability for project outcomes. * Regularly engage with clients to explain complex technical concepts in an accessible way, utilizing strong interpersonal communication skills. * Stay up-to-date with industry developments through research and supplier relationships, contributing to continuous professional growth. Job Requirements: * A degree (BSc, MSc required; PhD preferred) in a related field such as building physics, architectural engineering, or mechanical engineering, with at least two years of professional experience. Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant experience without a degree. * Strong understanding of building physics, MEP systems, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and building control systems. Experience in data centres is preferred but not essential. * Experience with energy modelling tools (such as IESVE and Grasshopper for Rhino), CFD modelling (6SigmaDCX), and lifecycle assessment tools (OneClick LCA). * Proficiency in sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and energy assessor certifications. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to clients
