CMM Programmer / Inspector Location: Chesterfield Salary: c£38,000 Working Hours: Monday - Friday, Days-based Benefits: Overtime, Pension Scheme, 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays At 5S Recruitment, we are excited to partner with an industry-leading engineering company that specialises in providing high-precision machined components across several demanding industries, including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Defence, Hydraulic, Off Highway and Aerospace With cutting-edge expertise in Deep Hole Drilling, Gun Drilling, Honing, CNC Machining, and 5-Axis Machining, they are known for delivering excellence. Their ability to tackle the most intricate components is supported by their in-house CAD CAM capabilities and UKAS-approved CNC CMM facilities. Right now, they are seeking a CMM Programmer to join their Chesterfield team. The Role: As a CMM Programmer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality are met. You’ll be responsible for gauging, measuring and inspecting precision components, all while programming and operating the CMM using QCT software. Your work will be vital in maintaining the company’s reputation for delivering top-tier machined components across high-stakes industries. Key Responsibilities: * Programming & Operating the CMM using QCT software to ensure accurate measurements of complex machined parts. * Performing detailed inspections of precision-engineered components, ensuring they meet stringent industry standards. * Conducting gauging, calibration and measurement tasks to ensure ongoing quality and compliance with specifications. * Maintaining meticulous quality control documentation and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. * Collaborating with the wider team to resolve any discrepancies or issues swiftly. What We’re Looking For: * Proven experience as a CMM Programmer with knowledge of QCT software (or similar). * Strong gauging and calibration skills, with a precise eye for detail and measurement. * Excellent understanding of precision engineering, with a background in machining being highly advantageous. * Analytical and problem-solving abilities to swiftly address any quality concerns. * Metrology or Quality Assurance Certification is desirable but not essential. * Team player with the ability to work independently and proactively within a high-paced environment.
