What you'll be doing:

• Analysis and Designof complex steel structures utilising Eurocodes, British Standardsand BAE standards, to support submarine build
You will utilise your knowledge ofspecific regulations & requirements beyond that used within BAESystems i.e., LOLER, codes of compliance, weld specifications,geometric tolerance Responsible for interpretingCompetent in computer based analytical techniques including finiteelement analysis, CAD modelling and engineering schematics (Abaqus,S-Frame) Supporting the manufacturing,assembly, lifting, handling, and installation processes ofSubmarine Structures, Modules and Components Supporting towards production ofconcept drawings, layouts, and other technical outputs consistentwith contractual requirements to meet target dates and budgetdemands Responsible for approvals,checking analysis and outputs

Yourskills and experiences:

• EngineeringDegree BEng/MEng or equivalent experienceCivil/Mechanical/Structural Based and Chartered Engineer CEngStatus or Incorporated Engineer IEng Status nearing CEngStatus
Expertise in structural steelanalysis and Design Fully conversant in use ofEurocodes and British Standards Competent in reviewing andchecking of Design Outputs Good understanding of mechanicalengineering, structural steelwork, knowledge of lifting handlingand LOLER Working knowledge of ABAQUS(Software), S-Frame Foran, MathCAD and excel Previous knowledge in a productionenvironment - experience in a marine production environmentadvantageous

The Specialist StructuresDepartment team:

As a Principal Engineer, you willbe working with a dual function team (design and engineers)consisting of 14 people at various seniority levels. The team isresponsible for engineering assessments of the designs in supportof build. You will be working in conjunction with design to produceequipment and/or support operation in production to producesafety-criticalequipment.

We offerrelocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject tomeeting eligibilitycriteria.
