Mechanical Design Engineer – DV Cleared Location: Aldermaston, Hybrid role with the requirement of 3 days per week onsite Contract Length: 12 months Daily rate: £500 per day Inside IR35 It is essential that you hold DV Clearance and you are a British citizen NexGen Associates are currently working with an established Consultancy who work within government and defence. They are now looking to urgently take on an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer on a contract basis for 12 months. You will provide mechanical designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) such that utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment and facilities are compliant with legislation, standards and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Deliver mechanical engineering designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard. Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained. Ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements. Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted. Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer. Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
