Project Design Engineer

Project Design Engineer We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Design Engineer to join our friendly team, working on a range of commercial projects throughout the water utilities industry, Participating in design reviews and acting as customer interface addressing technical queries during projects, Ensuring project and related work activities are in compliance with industry standards, and technical specifications. Producing 3D piping designs to customer brief. Monitoring and expediting project schedules and updating customers on project status. Working with various departments to manage project scope, schedule, and margin to ensure success. Deploying engineering solutions to resolve technical issues and managing the change request process. The work involves 50% design and 50% project managing * Industry experience with pipework, pressure vessels, flanges, process tanks, preferably in the water industry or oil/gas/industrial industries * Knowledge of piping specs and standards desirable but not essential * Together with a team of engineers and designers, be responsible for the Piping design within multi-discipline engineering for clients * Manage and complete the piping design within budget and planning * Responsible for the quality of the piping design * Participate in internal and external design reviews, whilst responsible for the design acceptance by the client * Experience in 3D Solid works or similar) * Proven background of competent delivery and client satisfaction * Commercially aware * Project management experience * 90% Office based * Client facing, with the ability to represent the business on site * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills * Full UK Driver’s License * Good computer skills * Mechanical Engineering educated * Pipework, Steel work Fabrication * Competitive salary (dependent on experience) * Other benefits discussed at interview stage The company: Established over 30 years, industry leaders in supplying technically innovative fabricated pipework for large civil engineering companies for the utilities industry Hours of work, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday finish early afternoon, 1hr lunch, Holidays, 25 days plus bank
